AlcoTec ALMIGWeld® Aluminum MIG Welding Wire of 1/16" Dia is made of 4643 alloy with silicon and magnesium as the principle alloying elements. Wire is heat treatable and offers high resistance to corrosion. Wire features weld cracking characteristics, flow, pre-cleaning, machine settings same as 4043 alloy and equals or surpasses alloy 4043 in the weld zone as well as heat-affected regions. 4643 Alloy can be utilized in the welding of heavy sections of particular aluminum alloys during multiple weld passes and when dilution of the base metal into the puddle is negligible. 4643 Alloy provides benefits in brazing type applications on thin sections where dilution ratios are minimum. It is ideal as a filler wire in welding applications and has weldability similar to 4043 alloy. It is normally associated with ER4643 class of wires. Wire comes in a spool of 16 lb. Wire meets ANSI/AWS A5.10 and AMS 4189 standards.
