This is a rare edition of the Diamond Select Classic TOS tricorder, complete with instructions and prop geological samples. All electronic features work perfectly including lights and all computer voice lines. All compartments open and close as intended, and the hood still opens and closes, as well as triggering the lights and sounds on or off.
Original leather carrying strap is intact and in excellent shape.
The battery compartment came with some leaking batteries installed, but the compartment has since been cleaned out and neutralized. The middle spring contact was corroded partly, and I have included a foil filler piece to complete the contact as pictured.
