Here is a travel album from 1961, commemorating a European trip that my grandma took. And what a trip it was! This 56-page scrapbook (some pages double-sided, some not), is very neatly annotated and contains:
- itinerary (loose, not attached to a page), which indicates a travel route of New York -UK - Holland - Belgium - Denmark - Luxemburg - West Germany - Switzerland - Italy - Monaco - France. You will be exhausted just reading it, lol!
- 85 postcards (1 loose) from these places
- a few programs and brochures (including an early performance of Oliver! that is glued to a page),
- a few postage stamps.
- Also included (but not part of the scrapbook itself) are 18 unused hotel luggage stickers from this trip featuring from some classic European hotels that my grandma stayed in.
This album is a true treasure trove from the Golden Age of Travel.
