Margot de Taxco Enamel Brooch-The Wave

This is a Margot de Taxco brooch called The Wave Circle. This was made in Taxco, Mexico circa 1960s. Margot was one of the mid-20th century’s greatest Mexican jewelry designers and her enameled items are both desirable and collectible. This brooch is made up of hundreds of tiny enameled cells that resemble tiny micro mosaic tiles. Colors of light blue, turquoise, lapis blue and black are framed in thin bands of silver that make up the crashing wave design. This brooch is marked Margot de Taxco, 5547, Made in Mexico Sterling in a circle, and the Eagle assay stamp. It measures 2” x 1 3/4”. The pin in the back works well. The brooch is in great condition. The enamel is in excellent condition. Some minor scratching/wear on the backside of the brooch.
