Found along the mountains of Mexico and NM was this beautiful piece of Botryoidal malachite. As you can notice one side is polished and it has a straight face. Due to the fact this originally started off in the 50s as a piece of malachite tubes one side had to be stabilized to keep the specimen from crumbling at both sides. As malachite is a asbestos mineral, change in temperature, adjustment to humidity can be sensitive to it and it should be stored in a closed case as it can after many many many many years cause repository issues possibly damage. This emerald green beauty is looking for a forever home. She was part of an inheritance and I can’t watch her walk to someone who doesn’t have passion in the rockhounding / collecting world.
