This is a Quimper tulipier or vase, hand-painted and signed. QUIMPER faience, a type of tin-glazed, hand-painted pottery, has been produced in Quimper, France, since the late 17th cen. The Henriot Quimper factory, founded in 1685, is particularly known for its traditional hand-painting techniques, with each piece being unique and signed by the artist. This specific vase features multiple openings for holding flowers, particularly tulips, which is why it's also called a "tulipier". It showcases hand-painted designs, including a medallion depicting a Breton peasant figure and floral motifs, characteristic of Quimper pottery. Quimper pottery, including pieces by Henriot, reflects the rich history and cultural heritage of Brittany, France. This piece is in good vintage condition. No cracks, just a couple of chips in the glaze around the edges of the individual tubes, and a couple flaws in the glaze around the bottom edge. Paint is faded in a few areas. Unique, antique piece of pottery!
